AMD Vision Study
AMD Vision Study
Our research team is evaluating a new vision test that is sensitive to subtle changes in vision and could improve screening for Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
We are conducting a research study to validate this new vision test.
We are recruiting adults in the Hamilton Ontario area to participate in this research study.
Please consider participating if you:
have been diagnosed with dry AMD
have normal vision
Age-related macular degeneration:
a leading cause of blindness
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in North Americans over 50 years of age. AMD causes a progressive loss of central vision, the part of your vision that allows you to read, drive and see images in sharp detail.
There are a number of factors that lead to increased risk of AMD including environmental factors, genetic variants, and advanced age.
AMD is classified into two forms: dry and wet.
